Founded by Benjamin T. Snead in 1999, Expedition Yachts International, LLC is located in New Bern, NC and provides consulting services to clients around the world.

Snead has worked in the yacht construction industry his entire professional career with over 20 years of yacht planning, specification, management, marketing and sales.  Ben spent his pre-college summers and two winter seasons working on offshore charter and commercial fishing vessels on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  He graduated with a business degree from the University of South Carolina in 1985 and joined the noted yacht builder Hatteras Yachts where he worked with customers and dealers in the specification, construction management and delivery of yachts ranging in length from 50' to 130'.  During his 13 years at Hatteras he held various management and executive positions including Executive Director of Custom Yachts and Vice President of Product Planning.  He also worked as a representative for Halter Marine's expedition yacht program completing three vessels ranging in size from 92' to 185'.

More recently, Ben has consulted on the construction and marketing of some of the finest luxury yachts in the world, including the 185’ U.S. built, SAMANTHA  LIN, the 206’ Danish built, BIG ROI, the 153’ GENESIS yachts built in Italy and the 152' LIA FAIL built in Anacortes, Washington.
